Sunday stamps: Sunrise, sunset

This Sunday Stamps' theme is 'Sunrise, sunset'.

As far as I know (but correct me if I'm wrong) Dutch sunrise/sunset photos have never been released on stamps.
Fortunately I found some art stamps related to the theme.

The famous 'Sower' by Vincent van Gogh:

On the painting 'Herfst' ('Autumn') by Leo Gestel the sun might have been rising too much already to name it 'sunrise'. However it still gives me some sunrise/sunset feeling:

Check the Sunday Stamps website and the links below this blog post for stunning sunrise/sunset photos!

    1. I am happy you didn't, so you posted the sea stamp :-) I had never seen that one from Lietuva before, it is such a beauty!!

  2. Both stunning. I'm familiar with the Sower, but not Herfst, and I love the light coming down through the clouds.

  3. Glad you like them!
Reading your definition I realize even more that I cheated a little by this choice (a little?!? You wrote a good and clear definition: sun on or close to the horizon)!.. :-)

Sunlight through the clouds I always think stunning. And makes me realize that nature is bigger than we are!

    1. The good thing is that nobody minds when we stretch the theme a little bit. Except for when it is right at its zenith, the sun os always rising or setting :)
