Postcards for the Weekend: Happiness, joy

This Postcards for the Weekend's theme is 'Happiness / Joy'.

This postcard show an object which brings a lot of joy:

As a mail lover you immediately know why :-)

In case of doubt: see what joyful Postcrossing stamps on the back side this postcard returned to me, after having traveled to Malaysia, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, and back to my country:

A person who brings much joy and happiness, too, is Krtek, or Molletje (Little Mole) as we name him in Dutch. Created by Czech animator Zdeněk Miler, Little Mole shows us how to live happy, with friends and in harmony with nature:

I see DawnTreader has chosen a happy Krtek postcard for this weekend, too, and I think one never will get enough of this friendly and smart mole. The Mole always gets nice solutions to everyday's problems. And even to big problems, as my favourite Little Mole movie proofs (Mole in the city - Molletje in de stad - Krtek ve městě). The Little Mole in the City movie follows the adventures of Krtek and his sidekicks Hedgehog and Rabbit as they head to the city after the forest, their home, has been taken over by industrialization.

Last but not least, there are two women who exactly know how to keep up happiness and joy, even at an elder age. Created by Finnish illustrator Inge Löök, they showed up on this postcard which landed in my mailbox yesterday and which caused a smile from ear to ear on my face, also for the back side.

I received it from Eva, and she suggested matching names for the two. Thanks a lot, Eva! I think I agree with you - be sure that a proper reply will be sent as soon as possible!

Postcards for the weekend: Happiness

This Postcards for the Weekend's theme is 'Happiness'!

One of the things that make me happy is nice mail. And it always is good to see the postman being happy by delivering mail, too:

Also this smurf is very happy, only he cannot bring the edges of his mouth upwards because he has to play the posthorn:

Nice mail brings happiness, both to the sender and receiver:

Happiness is for everyone, for the young and for the old.

Dutch illustrator Fiep Westendorp drew people of all ages, but she became most famous by her children's illustrations. This one of a child and cat, warmly packed against the cold, sharing happiness in the winter snow:

Finnish illustrator Inge Löök is famous for her illustrations of two very happy old ladies. Here the cheerful ladies are enjoying a nice day in the spring sun, with a drink and a play:

Postcards for the weekend: Coffee, tea

This weekend's theme for 'Postcards for the weekend' is 'Coffee, tea, pastries'.

I love to drink coffee on my own, while doing some home or work tasks, or read a book or something like that. Enjoying the relaxed moment and the fact that I'm drinking coffee. With milk, no sugar.

But also coffee and tea can connect people. Not only by drinking together, but even from a distance, by a postcard!

Eva and I have exchanged a lot of postcards about tea or coffee.
Among them this one, a Finnish postcard, sent by Eva to the Netherlands:

More postcards which I received from Eva, showing coffee, you can see here, and here, and here. And see this one! And this, and see this one!.

On my turn I've sent a Finnish postcard from the Netherlands to Eva. I think many of you will know this two happy old ladies, drawn by Inge Löök. Drinking tea in a rather unusual, but surely cosy place:

In: from Finland via Spain

Een hele reis! De illustratie van Inge Löök komt echt uit Finland, maar de postzegels bewijzen dat de kaart via Spanje gereisd heeft. En ook de poststempel-afdruk op de voorzijde (die deze kaart uniek maakt!).

A long journey, this card has made. The Inge Löök illustration of course comes from Finland, however the stamps prove this card has been traveling via Spain. So does the cancelling stamp print on the front side (which makes this card unique!).

Received from Eva - thank you very much!
