In: My first lighthouse!

Verschillende mensen verzamelen vuurtoren-ansichtkaarten.
Dank!

Several people are collecting postcards of lighthouses. This time I am the lucky receiver, maybe it's a start of my lighthouse collection!?
You can see it on the right, the lighthouse of Cabo São Vicente, on this beautiful postcard sent from Portugal by Eva.
Amazing similarities I see between Eva's card (received 8th of March) and the card on the left which I received one day later via Postcrossing, showing a rock at Heren Beach in Hualien County, Taiwan.
Giant rocks, a wide sea, a black frame, text under the picture... Thanks to the both of you!

Update 19-3-2013: I had forgotten to add these beautiful postage and cancelling stamps - from Portugal and Taiwan - so here you are!
From the sticker we can learn how Taiwanese mailboxes look like.
Finally an interesting fact: this card which Eva sent me from Cape Saint Vincent, shows the most western place in the European continent!

In: from Spain, from Morocco

I have been to Spain several times, and I've been travelling within Spain by train as well. But I have never been to the capital. So I am happy to be able to see the Madrid railway station, which is named Atocha. Thank you very much, Eva!
Extra nice is it to be able to see both how the railway station looks nowadays, and how it looked in 1912, when it was 61 years young!
How time flies, and how times are changing...

P.S. Eva: Concerning travelling time, I think these cards went fast: according to the cancelling stamp they started their journey in the post office on the 20th of February, and I already received them on the 25th of February (but I didn't have the time to scan and publish them sooner than now..)!

In: from Portugal

Dankjewel, Eva!

Received from Portugal, this beautiful postcard which shows that storks are living in diverse ways (however their nest always is similar!).
Thank you very much, Eva!

In: from Morocco

Dankjewel, Eva!

Out: lighthouses

I happened to find myself in a nice cardshop, where I found these three lighthouse postcards. I know two persons who seem to like lighthouses very much, so who knows... Maybe soon one of these drawn lighthouses will arrive into their mailbox?

Designed by the German artist Ole West. When you google his name, you'll find more excellent lighthouse drawings. The ones shown above, however, were the only ones who were sold here as a postcard. From left to right you see the Brandaris on the Wadden island Terschelling, the Westerlichttoren or West Schouwen in Haamstede on the island Schouwen-Duiveland in the province of Zeeland, and the Eierland lighthouse on the Wadden island Texel (click in the Wiki's on the left for English translation).

In: from Morocco

Daaronder weer zo'n bijzondere ronde postzegel, met even grote stempels.

Received today from Eva from Morocco. I loved it when I saw the picture of the mailbox Eva probably posted these cards into (whenever postcards will be issued which show this mailbox, I will be excited when I would receive one!).
On the picture above you see the Bab Okla, one of the seven gates to the medina, the old city of Tétouan.
Below there are several Moroccan doors, nd below these again this special, round postage stamp with same sized cancelling stamps.
Thank you very much, Eva, for these beautiful postcards!
