Sunday stamps: Sunrise, sunset

This Sunday Stamps' theme is 'Sunrise, sunset'.

As far as I know (but correct me if I'm wrong) Dutch sunrise/sunset photos have never been released on stamps.
Fortunately I found some art stamps related to the theme.

The famous 'Sower' by Vincent van Gogh:

On the painting 'Herfst' ('Autumn') by Leo Gestel the sun might have been rising too much already to name it 'sunrise'. However it still gives me some sunrise/sunset feeling:

Check the Sunday Stamps website and the links below this blog post for stunning sunrise/sunset photos!

Sunday stamps: the colour red

This Sunday Stamps' theme is 'the colour red'.
You can see wonderful stamps containing a lot of red (including hearts - this Sunday is/was Valentine's day!) on Sunday Stamps and via the links under that post.

Here are a few stamps containing red from my received mail:

Red crossstitch Rooster from Belarus:

A red fish (and dark red postmark) from Japan:

Red background of a 2011 Dutch December stamp:

France has issued many stamps containing rouge (red), among them this one:

Red beetles from Korea:

Red firework on a stamp from the USA, issued for the Chinese New Year of the Dragon, a few years ago:

Some red with green:

A red mailbox / wallbox from the United Kingdom:

And finally some ripe red apples, one from China:

And one from the Netherlands:

Check Sunday Stamps and the links post to see more stamps-in-red!

In: from Hong Kong

I am very pleased to have received this beautiful maximumcard from Natalie from Hong Kong.

Besides sharing this card and stamp with you 'regularly', there are two more reasons to post this card today:
- Tomorrow the New Year will start, according to the Chinese calendar, and it will be the Year of the Monkey!
- And today's Sunday Stamps theme is 'illustrations', to which I would like to add these two illustrations of a monkey!

Check for more illustrations the Sunday Stamps blog and the links under the post.
And for all mail friends (and all others) who celebrate the Chinese New Year: happy New Year!

Thank you very much, Natalie!
