Heleen received more postcards than the 'postcrossing wall' was able to carry. Also she received - and sent - postcards besides postcrossing cards. Where to collect them? Well, here, of course! Heleen ontving méér kaarten dan op de 'postcrossing wall' pasten. Ook ontving en stuurde zij kaarten buiten postcrossing om. Maar waar moesten die kaarten nu verzameld worden? Nou, hier, natuurlijk.

In: from the United Kingdom
John sent me this postcard, showing the Billericay Windmill in Essex.
The postcard traveled in only 2 days, from the United Kingdom to the Netherlands! And was accompanied by a special stamp on the backside:
Thank you very much, John! Thank you also for the other postcards, very much appreciated! I'll post the other cards later, but for now I couldn't wait to share this shaped bat stamp!

I like the postcard very much. And the stamp. I received yesterday one of these (the monkey). I've read that philatelists are against these "Animail" stamps, but they are funny, aren't they?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSo do I, and Yes they are!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI cannot imagine why a philatelist would be against these kind of stamps.. Other than they might be hard to soak off the paper (which is the case in all present sticker stamps, but maybe the small parts are more vulnerable - no worries for me, I'll keep the card and stamp together)), and the fact that present stamp collection albums don't fit well enough for the stamp.
(er, these are true disadvantages of these kind of stamps...)
Maybe we can invent some clever handy collection system :-) (patented, and get rich and famous by that!)
Anyway, I think John did us a big pleasure by sending these stamps to us!
I didn't see the monkey yet, but I think the Bat is one of my all-time favourites!
Because (most) philatelist don't care about mail, they don't send mail at all!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThis time, John wasn't the sender of the monkey :D
